Some gifts last a lifetime. Others last for generations.

LEAVE SOMETHING BEHIND.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO HELP

Not everyone supports Toowong in the same way

Some people make a one-off gift. Some choose regular giving. Others decide that one day, long into the future, they’d like their connection with Toowong to continue through a gift in their Will. Every contribution strengthens the Club. Every gift becomes something real.

DONATE TODAY

Help fund today’s priorities.

Boats. Equipment. Infrastructure. Youth.

GIVE REGULARLY

Small gifts. Long-term impact.

Regular giving helps the Foundation plan confidently for projects that strengthen Toowong year after year.

LEAVE A LEGACY

Some of the greatest gifts arrive years after they were imagined.

A bequest helps ensure future generations inherit a stronger Club than the one we enjoy today.

MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION

If you would like to claim a tax deduction, donations can be made securely through the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).

While the Foundation pays a small fee to the ASF, many donors choose this option because the tax deduction allows them to increase the size of their gift without increasing what it costs them after tax. Note: Credit card fees are also deducted from contributions to the ASF

Donation: Direct Through ASF Through ASF
Amount of donation $1,000 $1,334 $2,000
Tax rate, for example Not applicable 25% 50%
Tax benefit to donor Nil 334 1,000
After tax cost to donor $1,000 $1,000 $1,000
Fee payable to ASF at 5% Nil 67 100
Funds received by foundation $1,000 $1,267 $1,900

.

If you don’t require a tax deduction, you can make a one-off donation or set up a regular contribution directly to the Foundation by EFT.

Monthly or quarterly giving helps the Foundation plan with greater confidence and build reliable support for future boats, equipment, infrastructure and opportunities. Please include your name as the payment reference and email us so we can identify and acknowledge your contribution.

WHAT YOUR GIFT BECOMES

Every gift, at every level, compounds over time. here is how support typically translates:

A REGULAR MONTHLY GIFT

Helps fund and develop youth access so cost never sidelines talent or teams.

MID-LEVEL DONATIONS

Contribute to maintaining boats, oars and ergometers that are used daily.

LARGER CONTRIBUTIONS

Accelerate fleet upgrades and infrastructure improvements that keep crews competitive.

BEQUESTS & LEGACY GIFTS

Strengthen the long-term financial resilience of the club for generations to come.

LEAVING A LEGACY

One day, your name may no longer appear on a crew list.
The races will have been rowed.
The medals packed away.
The cheering from the riverbank will have faded into memory.

But a gift in your Will can continue shaping Toowong Rowing Club long after all of that.

It can help keep boats on the water, young rowers in the sport, facilities improving and opportunities open for the generations that follow.

Some legacies are remembered because they happened.
Others are remembered because they keep happening.

A legacy gift ensures your connection with Toowong doesn’t end with your lifetime. It becomes part of the Club’s future.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT WORKS

Are donations to the Toowong Rowing Foundation tax deductible?

Donations of $2 or more made through the Australian Sports Foundation may be tax deductible in Australia. An official receipt is issued by the Australian Sports Foundation after your donation. Tax outcomes depend on individual circumstances, so independent tax advice may be appropriate.

Can I donate directly to the Foundation?

Yes. If you do not require a tax deduction, you can contribute directly to the Foundation by EFT. Please include your name as the payment reference and email the Foundation so your contribution can be identified and acknowledged.

Can I make a regular monthly or quarterly donation?

Yes. Regular giving helps the Foundation plan ahead, build long-term financial resilience and support projects over multiple seasons rather than relying only on one-off appeals.

What does my donation help fund?

Donations may support boats, oars, ergometers, pontoons, boatsheds, other infrastructure, youth participation, high-performance rowing and financial protection against unexpected events affecting Toowong Rowing Club.

Can I choose what my gift supports?

You may ask for your gift to support a particular purpose. Any request should be discussed with the Foundation first so it can confirm that the purpose aligns with its objects and can be administered appropriately.

What is a bequest or legacy gift?

A bequest is a gift left through your Will. It may be a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, the whole of your estate or another form of gift arranged with your solicitor.

Do I need a solicitor to leave a gift in my Will?

You should speak with a qualified solicitor before creating or changing your Will. The Foundation can provide suggested wording, but its Board and Company Secretary cannot provide legal advice.

Do I need to tell the Foundation about my bequest?

No. You are not required to tell the Foundation. However, letting the Foundation know gives it the opportunity to thank you, understand your wishes and plan more confidently. Any conversation can be treated confidentially.

Can I leave my gift for a specific purpose?

Yes, subject to the Foundation confirming that the proposed purpose aligns with its legal objects and remains practical over time. It is worth speaking with the Foundation before finalising restricted wording in your Will.

Can a business support the Foundation?

Yes. Businesses may support the Foundation through donations, sponsorship, project funding or other forms of corporate giving. The most suitable arrangement can be discussed directly with the Foundation.
