The foundation welcomes donations and bequests to support its activities. The foundation cannot achieve its objectives without the generosity of its donors.
If you would like to receive a tax deduction for your donation, contributions can be made securely through the Australian Sports Foundation. The foundation pays fees to the ASF to enable donors to obtain a tax deduction, however tax benefits arising from deductions are beneficial to all as this table illustrates:
|Amount of donation
|Tax rate, for example
|Tax benefit to donor
|After tax cost to donor
|Fee payable to ASF at 5%
|Funds received by foundation
Note: Credit card fees are also deducted from contributions to the ASF
However, if you do not require a tax deduction, contributions can be made by EFT directly to the foundation’s bank account without any fees being paid:
Toowong Rowing Foundation Ltd
ATF Toowong Rowing Foundation
BSB: 182 500
Account: 9405 13583
Please email the foundation so that your contributions can be identified and receipts provided.
Also, please consider setting up periodic contributions, perhaps monthly or quarterly, if that is easier for you.
Alternatively, if you generously decide to leave a gift in your will to the foundation, please follow these steps:
- Use the sample bequest wording below to specify your gift.
- Consult your solicitor to instruct her or him to prepare or update your will to include your gift to the foundation, to ensure that your will is valid, and correctly expresses your wishes.
- If you wish, please let us know you have provided your gift, as we’d appreciate the opportunity to thank you.
Example of a gift of a sum of money:
I GIVE to Toowong Rowing Foundation Ltd as trustee for the Toowong Rowing Foundation the sum of $………., for use in accordance with its objects (or specify a particular purpose).
Example of a gift of a percentage or whole of your estate:
I GIVE to Toowong Rowing Foundation Ltd as trustee for the Toowong Rowing Foundation ……% of my estate/or the whole of my estate, after payment of all my estate’s expenses, for use in accordance with its objects (or specify a particular purpose).
Though the Trustee’s Board and company secretary cannot offer legal advice, you are most welcome to contact the secretary if you wish to discuss any aspect of your planned giving, and the benefits it will provide to the Toowong Rowing Club. It will also help the foundation if you could provide contact details.
